Many people may be surprised that the Virtual World Second Life still operates. While it may not get the same level of attention that it received when it first launched, the grid still continues to chug away.

I would like to announce that I have dedicated a small parcel of land to a Computer Museum. It is still early days, and it is not yet an all-singing all-dancing museum. However the museum already contains a number of examples of early microcomputer history. You will also be able to tune in to some classic computer advertisements of the day.

As Second Life is not a static environment, we will be able to imp[rove the museum over time and plan to do so as time goes on. We also plan going into the new year to promote the venue as a way of growing the GeekJabber community.

For those with Second Life accounts, you can visit the museum here.
